Observation details
A beautiful vibrant blue bunting with a silver beak. As I was watching a female Lazuli bunting, this male flew into a tree that she had just moved beyond. Later, when she flew, he followed her. As I became familiar with his chip call, he was fairly easy to relocate as he moved around from tree to tree sometimes singing and sometimes making a contact chip often following the female bunting. Once or twice the bird flew into the grasses briefly before moving onto a tree. Thanks to Sylvia A for her helpful description and GPS location on her eBird checklist.
