Flock of about 1000 birds flying north.
Observation details
**High for Cayuga in spring. Shatters previous eBird Tompkins spring record (375?) and very nearly at my fall record of ~2800. Many flocks moving. Huge flock on lake on arrival; took off and headed north at 6:05, estimate by 10s and 50s at 900 birds. Before they flew, a flock of 180 flew by going north at 6:02. Flock of 55 north at 6:07. 60 north fairly high over middle of lake at 6:17. At 6:22, very large flock visible to south but seemed to be doubling back to south, though certainly not birds previously seen by me; at least 700 and maybe more. Then roughly 1000 (probably same group) moving north as rain let up a bit at 6:40. 65 north at 646. 300 north at 650. 100 south at 716, maybe flushed off water by boat going south as well.
