Observation details
*Rare. A young bird found by Woody Goss around 6:45 PM on the Protected Beach, I joined him on the pier around 6:55 PM and saw the bird briefly before it took flight and eventually disappeared, possibly setting down into the Harbor. A young gull, slightly smaller than the Ring-billed Gulls present, with a long and droopy all black bill, smudgy gray and off-white neck and breast, white face and crown with gray nape, dark eye, dark legs and feet, darker gray mantle, white edging on the secondaries, and darker black wingtips. Photos taken, my first at Montrose.
