Observation details
Large flock of red necked phalaropes following this afternoons rain storm. Counted as accurately as I could after reviewing photos. Small shore birds with white patch, black encircling the eye and a red throat. The chatter is consistent with RNP, frantic and enthusiastic. Circling back and forth working for food over the same 100 yard stretch of water for 30+ minutes. The water in this spot is about 1-4 feet deep with steady current.
