Observation details
***very rare. Flyby flock distant to our south at 06:58, maybe 1/2-1 mi away, heading west. From a distance, the long-necked and -legged profile with wings arched relatively high above the body suggested whistling-ducks. In the scope the white at the base of the remiges were obvious. Less visible was a dark body, pale head, and red bill and legs. They were in view for about 20 seconds before heading out of sight behind the trees.
