Observation details
Bird flew across road on way back out, just before getting back to best looking habitat with a log yard and strip cuts on one side and and standing deadwood in a small wetland on the other. Had stopped there on way in, for a good bit of listening and watching. The Bird looked good for a 3 toed. After stepping out, I heard the distinctive drumming that trailed off at the end like a dropped ping pong ball....ATTW !!! .Bird flew into open to a dead snag, drilling. Yellow cap, white speckling on back. It moved several times into the open before moving off. Could hear it drumming in distance when I left. Presume Its the same bird found by Barry Southard....Big thumbs up, Barry
