Observation details
Estimate. Mainly adults with perfectly black caps/ crests throughout the lake. At the Eastern path we took which has the small Mazar overlooking the lake. This spot also has a lot of medium heighted foliage mainly of Prosopis julifloria. Upon our arrival at this particular spot, we found these birds in small parties circling us atleast 10 to 20 metres above the ground and uttering an unique nasal alarm call that I personally, have never noted from their wintering sites. The birds were very wary of our presence and seemed irritated although, a look across the landscape from here did not present any views of a nesting site. I am confident they are breeding here, just need more time and effort and maybe a boat. No direct breeding evidence noted.
