Observation details
Fox sparrow with gray head and upper mantle. Black chevrons limited to upper chest and streaking down flanks somewhat brownish.I believe the bill to be too small for the ‘thick-billed’ race. For what it’s worth it responded energetically to playback of the slate colored race, though I’m not sure that is meaningful, but given the response I think it was on territory.
