Observation details
Sweet, sweet relief. Heard first, then flew in. Moved all around my car for about 5-10 min while singing. Heard another singing nearby but did not get visuals. Long-legged, plain-colored plover with perfect dirt-colored camouflage, black bill and forehead. Banded individual! Update: I was able to pull most of the band number from photos, 17X3-3X793. Confirmed with Angela Dwyer of Bird Conservancy of the Rockies that this is a 10-year old individual #1713-39793, banded by Colin Woolley on July 4, 2014 near Kimball. Originally had red, white, and blue color bands, only red color band remaining. Angela also sent photos of the bird as a chick and as a 2-year old photographed by Kathy Delara.
