Observation details
No playback used. Observed from the road. First heard singing around 8:15 AM from the distant big diagonal row of trees inside the fence. Recorded many times. Then to our good fortune, the bird flew across the field towards us and landed in the cottonwoods along the road, about 100 yards west of the Oasis Ranch driveway. All in all we spent about 30 to 40 minutes observing, recording, and photographing. This was a yellow spectacled vireo with a bright yellow throat and white belly. The crown and top of its head was all olive-gray. It was gray backed and had darker wings with prominent white wing bars.
