Observation details
White bellied oystercatcher paired with a Black Oystercatcher. It looked reasonably good for an American oystercatcher, with a fairly wide white wing stripe and nice demarcation between black and white on the breast, but with a few black spots in the plumage and would score approx 28 on Jehl scale, which puts it in to more of a zone of uncertainty: uppertail coverts 1 Tail 1 Chest 3 Belly 6 Undertail coverts 2 Thighs 4 Greater secondary coverts 3 Extent of wing stripe 2 Underwing coverts 3 Axillaries 3
