Observation details
I was heading into Green-wood when I saw the alert from Sean Medina that he had found an Arctic Tern at Plumb, and as soon as I saw the photo I was hustling for my car as fast as I could. Fortunately the bird was still there by the time I arrived down at the far end of the beach, probably an hour after he put out word. This is one I have been wanting in Brooklyn for quite some time, it seemed just barely plausible but always just out of reach. Only the second one I have ever seen, and the first adult. I ended up spending about 70 minutes getting to enjoy it before it was flushed by a woman and her dog, then the group tracked it flying around for another 10 minutes before we lost it in a scrum of Commons. A highly satisfying chase for county bird #338.
