Observation details
***Extremely rare. According to eBird, this is the first Tufted Duck since 2005 in the county. Seen with many others from the southern levee of A16. Today, it seemed to be farther away from Island 19 and more between Islands 17 and 18. Sometimes, it would be diving for food, and other times, it would be preening itself. Golden eye, tiny tuft on back of head, white undertail, some white at base of bill, seemingly blue bill with a bit of black at the tip, dark brown head and back, and light-brown/grayish flanks.
