Observation details
Thanks to Lauren Avery for finding the EAPH again this year on May 15th. We observed this species in same location last year on May 4, 2023. Possibly same individual? Drab flycatcher that is grayish-brown on the top portions. Crown and tail slightly darker color than back. Underparts (breast, belly, flank) whitish. Black bill. No eye-ring. Dark iris. No wingbars, but edges of secondaries are streaked with some white giving the wings a streaked gray-brown/white look to them when folded. Bird was located visually by hearing distinct call. Bird was observed in trees between Animas River Trail and the river, sallying out from branches and back; near bump out observation deck on trail behind north end of Durango Mall Photo and audio included.
