Bird 2
Observation details
Heard LOUD “Chippy Chuppy” song right beside me on the gravel path here (35.8776693, -86.4371574) at 7am. The bird flew a few bushes down and I was treated to relatively unobstructed views. Solid yellow underside with long UnTC, pink legs, olive green back and wings, gray hood, thick pinkish bill and striking white eyering. Recorded singing. Call an odd, unwarbler-like raspy “chit.” Bird would fly between the shrubs and trees along the path and the thicket at the cedar woods’ edge, before dropping down into the grasses and walking around unseen. It would flush out from my feet in the grass along the trail! Rutherford #232 A SECOND bird was heard singing here (35.8745535, -86.4354485) at 8am, near where Jeff Walck recorded one recently. I should have a recording of this bird as well.
