Observation details
First Booby! Larger than nearby gull. Very clean white head and body. Wings are dark/black showing mostly adult plumage with a little brown spot on back. Black tail. Juxtaposed to the report yesterday this bird actually has quite a pale yellow green bill indicating that it is a Masked Booby rather than the previously reported Nazca Booby. Bill larger than gull. Seen from cliff above. Photos show it was being rescued by Dawn Garcia and Shirley Reynolds. No closer photos as I met them above Heisler to help move the bird. What a gorgeous bird to see up close. Bird never moved. Bird no longer at location. Photos later. New boober feel free to suggest corrections of my sighting!
