Observation details
Great find by Julie Bonnema, continues from 5/12. It was sitting in a snag on the south side of the electrical substation, easily viewed from the parking area just east of the closed section of Chase Street. (41.5607979, -87.3741204) Later it began foraging just east of Chase Street (41.5597011, -87.3749308) Easily viewable from the closed section of Chase Street. Just before we left, it and the great egrets were flushed east by a bald eagle. The tricolored heron flew high but then circled back and landed in the marsh, near cattails, with the great egrets.
