Observation details
Two is a conservative count. Probably there were 4 Common Snipe. One bird was winnowing over head--much lower than the winnow of a Wilson's Snipe, and photos reveal that only one broad tail feather extended on each side of the tail durring the winter.. One of the birds showed very little white in the under wing and would have been a difficult ID if not for the winnnowing. At least one other bird was on the other end of the spectrum, showing an obvious amount of white on the under wing.
