Observation details
Large, white, unmistakeable crane species. Digibin photos attached, camera photos tba. Critically endangered crane species with only a few hundred in the wild. Per sources, this crane is individual 16-23, named 'Animal' after the Muppets character. She was on course to fly over cook county but must have gotten confused/lost and put down in Wilmette. She was rescued by government conservation officials and will be safely transported to Wisconsin. So glad this poor bird received help! And what a special lifer!
