Observation details
Continuing in the area. First seen in my peripheral vision and thought it was a PUMA that landed. I turned and was surprised to see it was in fact a small crow and much closer than I had thought. Silhouette immediately stood out as distinct to both Brendan and I, small crow with small head and bill, longer wings, shorter legs and different posture (surprisingly similar to PUMA at the right angle - checked on Macaulay library later as I was curious). P9 similar length to P5 in flight shots, in combination with proportions lead to FICR despite not calling. Due to lighting conditions and angle, not able to accurately judge the glossiness or if it appeared less "scaled" on nape. (Hooked tip not in all FICR - checked with images from Macaulay library as well)
