Observation details
A pair of small, long-legged sandpipers with heavy distinct horizontal barring on chest and belly. They waded knee-deep to thigh-deep and plunged entire head into water to feed, tipping their tails upward. Bills were long and slightly decurved, thicker than bills of Lesser Yellowlegs. The nearby LEYE were larger birds than these. Phone-scooped photos are provided, but they are heavily backlit and somewhat blurred, not showing body and face plumage detail.
