Behavior and other notes: A group of about 6 Pygmy Nuthatches giving scolding calls in an aspen. A male House Wren was scolding with them. I could find no reason for the consternation. At 4:58, the focal bird (the most vocal individual) started preening and flew a meter or so and changed call type. Other birds started doing the new call type as well. Recorder HPF on at 80 Hz, -12 dB/octave. Channels: Mono. Distance to source: 12 meters. Recording Time: 0656 (UTC -5). Temperature 0.0°C. Habitat: Pine forest, wet meadow with willow and alders..
