Observation details
Singing in the brushy area behind the Hartwelll lot.Heard better from the Samuel Hartwell Haouse (just a frame with a chimney) on Battle Rd , east of the Hartwell Tavern. We first heard the bird distantly from the lot. I knew it was something unusual right away, so we zoomed down the trails to a closer spot. The song had a more rolling quality than I usually think of for Kentucky and from a distance sounded a little like a higher pitched Mourning Warbler. Nice group effort to locate this bird after we heard it singing. First Kentucky Warbler report in the NHP.
