Media notes
I was walking along a track by a canal, a Collared Kingfisher started calling from tree ahead. I stopped and started recording. Shortly after a second bird fle into the tree and there was a bit of chatter about 30sec. The second bird flew away, then after silence the first bird flew across the canal. WE moved forward and when we were level with the bird it started calling and kept calling whilst we were there (second recording). It flicked its tail every time it called. We then walked away and it went silent. When we came back a short time later it started calling again (third recording), always flicking its tail. When we left it went quiet. So perhaps it was all a warning call - nest nearby?
