Observation details
Empid seen flycatching here: (47.4036429, -122.2596721) - my first and only impressions were that it was a Gray Flycatcher. Seemingly large, bill large with the bottom bill mostly light (but dark at the tip), eyering even and complete, and down-then-up phoebe-like tail pumping observed many times. It made 3 sharp whit calls at one point but I wasn’t recording audio, unfortunately. Photos decent enough for ID despite my lens’ image stabilization being off. A fun find and the first record of Gray Flycatcher in Kent Ponds.
