Media notes
Song and drumming of a male atop a tall dead (burned) conifer on a steep slope just above Onion Saddle. It flew off at the end. Background includes: Spotted Towhee, Steller’s Jay, W. Wood-Pewee, Mourning Dove, Acorn Woodpecker. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola.
Observation details
[2200m] including two singing and drumming, one in an entirely burned area with tall, dead trees and short, young oaks, the other in patchy mixed conifer forest;
