Observation details
Continuing from this morning in the muddy bit east of the RR tracks here: (35.2058793, -106.6015414). A large, attenuated Calidris “peep”. About the size of a Baird’s Sandpiper with elongate wings and a stout (for its size), somewhat drooping bill. Grayer than BASA. Intricately patterned on its back, including rufous feather edges. Breast finely streaked with streaking continuing down the length of the flanks. Hanging with 3 SPSA and KILL. Photo.
