Observation details
When I was on the west to east path just south of boardwalks I started hearing the canada warbler. I didn't hear it when I first walked to south end by phrags and came back. It looked like it was coming from a cedar tree but I couldn't see it. With all the branches that were downed when they ran the machine clearing the path to make it wide last fall I wasn't sure if I could get into the woods easily as it was blocked with branches. You have to walk up an incline to look in then walked in a little thru the scouring rush. I finally saw it on some branches in the sun. I watched it for awhile which is unusual with this bird. Then 22 minutes later after I finished walking only east on the trail I returned and walked south on nearby trail a little looking for BT blue again but saw the canada again on east side of trail. It was on a branch up high preening but the lighting wasn't good and finally had to give up as it was still there preening. The area where I first saw it had many yellow-rumps, at least three bay-breasted and BT blue male all in a protected area.
