Observation details
Lots of Westerns calling away in the pines. Bright olive/yellow empids with teardrop shaped white eyering. Peaked head with medium sized bill, all yellow mandible. Medium wing bar contrast to upper body, weak wing panel contrast to primaries, and pale edges on secondaries reach almost to lower wing bar. Gave repeated “Chew-whit” calls and occasionally 3-part song (song recording includes Violet Green Swallow and Red Faced Warbler). Occasionally flicked wings and tail. Photos, audio, video.
