Observation details
Small caracara with a light head and chest. It has evidence of molting i.e. the primaries are coming in secondaries are also coming in and some are missing. It is generally working the parking lot around the new Target at Narbonne and PCH. It ranges far to the west a little to the north and a little bit to the east. We saw it feeding on the top of a cable box near the backside or south side of Target. According to a lady in the shopping center, it’s actually been here a month! Different person reported that it arrived on 24 April and the people from the Halal market have been feeding it raw meat. This series shows many of the places it perched as well as the legs showing no evidence of being a falconer's bird.
