Observation details
All that I saw were around the front entrance, cafe, fountains, and central lawns. The first 6-8 were spectacular males, but I finally saw a single female. Why the skewed sex ratio, I wonder—were other females out of sight on nests, or are these males actually just pets? Males around the cafe were calling loudly and doing some displaying. I saw one take a dust bath. Around the far south and west edges of the arboretum, I also heard several more peacocks calling from the adjacent neighborhoods. As I was leaving through the front gate, I saw what must have been an immature male, with an iridescent blue head and neck like an adult male but somewhat greener, with duller body plumage, and lacking the full long tail.
