Observation details
Very pale meadowlark perched up on the breakwall railing. No dark area along shaft of tail feather so the rectrices simply had a set of very narrow dark bars, tertials similarly marked. "Chuck" call notes diagnostic. Mottled brown head stripes and pale malar contrasting with bright yellow throat with pale feather edging, the latter mark more typical of Eastern but the yellow malar in Western can be missing in some non-adults (?). Maybe a first-spring? Diagnostic audio and photos.
