Observation details
Cont. bird found by Jake “Avo Stilt” yesterday (5/12). Warbler with dark blue-gray head and wings, bright yellow throat and belly, white undertail coverts. Slight black patch in front of and below eye. The coolest plumage feature in my opinion is that the top mandible of the bill matches the dark color of the head, while the lower mandible is yellow like the throat. Several birders were on it when I arrived, the bird being in a somewhat distant oak on the southern hillside, here: (34.1602185, -117.8246895) I got exactly two photos of the bird before it flew to the east and wasn’t seen again until I left. I didn’t hear it sing while attempting refind, either.
