Observation details
An excellent find by Joachim Bertrands and Sean McElaney! Slightly larger than nearby Least Sandpipers, with straighter, fine-tipped bill, short yellowish legs, and long wings and tail. Plumage smooth grey above contrasting with dark scapular patches and just a touch of rufous. Head uniform grey with slight eye-ring. Well defined smooth grey breast-band and white belly. Heard distinct rattling call in flight. Observed on central dykes and in SE quadrant near the metal building. M.Obs. Photos.
