Observation details
Heard croaking while in the North Woods. Looked up, and a CORA had flown into a tulip tree. It remained there for a few minutes, and was intimidating enough to scare a chihuahua that its owner had on a leash (she had to pick up her dog and cradle it in her arms, it was actually shaking). The raven flew off, and when I got to the West Drive I saw it perched on a light fixture and holding a rat. It proceeded to pick at the rat, and pieces of fur could be seen drifting off into the air. It then flew off with the rat in its bill, heading north... possibly on its way to the nest.
