Observation details
Heard this very distinct call at about 6:50 a.m. towards the end of the bike trail that leads up to Route one (more east then the boat ramp/kayak storage hut). There is a copse (between water and bike path) right across from the gate entrance to the Toyota auto storage area and where their cars are lined up for service. It repeated this call maybe 6 or 7 times but I only was able to get audio twice. Byron Swift was walking through and I was able to share this audio and he gave a nod to Mourning Warbler as well. I spent about an hour in the patch, after hearing it, but I don't believe I ever got another vocalization unless it was much lower in volume. I did take a picture of a back of small warbler but I have the feeling it is going to be COYE. There were Redstarts, Wilson's, BLWA and NOWA in the immediate area as well. Researching Macaulay Library for similar sound ID and I found this matching one: https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/615976630 The past two years, when a Mourning has appeared in the park, it has tended to stay around at least a day or two.
