Observation details
Very rare vagrant to Florida, with less than 20 accepted records in the state. Fifth record, that I know of, for South Florida in recent times. Breeds in Jack Pine forests of northern Michigan and Wisconsin; winters in the Bahamas. Even though migratory route has this species flying along Florida's Atlantic coast, it is rarely seen during migration. Large warbler species. Individual seen was blue-gray above and bright yellow below. Black short streaks along flanks and black spotting along neck/breast line. Broken white eye ring, forming crescents above and below the eye.
