Observation details
First found and reported by Benjamin van Doren. My understanding is that the bird was singing in the morning and its song was confirmed by both folks who heard it and the Merlin app. It was reported to be staying mostly within a small fenced area just NW of Bow Bridge. Following stakeouts by others, we arrived later and staked it out for about 40 minutes, ourselves. The bird was clearly either a Bicknell's or a Gray-cheeked and its warmer coloring seemed more like Bicknell's. Given that others heard and recorded a singing Bicknell's in the exact same spot shortly before we arrived, we are entering this bird as a Bicknell's, rather than a Bicknell's/Gray-cheeked. Attached are some rather bad photos that at least attest to the warmer coloring and show significant yellow on lower mandible.
