Observation details
Lifer. After review of photos and review of North American Flycatchers: Empidonax and Pewees, I am confident that this bird was an OSFL. Displayed strong contrast between dark vest and white belly with a white throat vs gratis throat of WEWP. Orange lower mandible is visible in photos and I believe white side patches in rump as well. Was thrown off by lack of tail flicking, but the guide notes OSFL are Pewees and don’t flick their tails. Bonus excitement as I have reached 100 species in Maricopa county for the month of May.
