Media notes
Call notes were recorded from a woodlot edge. "Rattle call at 3 and 6 seconds consistent with AMCR. 4.25, 30.25 seconds unique calls recorded.
Observation details
Unique call notes were heard from the trees at the side of the woodlot. An AMCR was perched at the top of a tree and the recording was from that general area.. However, I have not heard these unique call notes before. We did not see or hear a CORA during the checklist period. Interesting. On the recording, the 3 an 6 second "rattle" call seems to be full frequency (extending to 8kHz or higher), thus a greater pitch range than the CORA "rattle call" which us not usually above 4 kHz. The unique two note phrase at 4.25 and 44,25; 4 notes phrase at 23 seconds; 3 note phrase at 30.25 seconds I am unable to identify the species for these notes. Quality like CORA in some and AMCR in others. The two note call reminds of a low pitched Fish Crow.
