Observation details
Okay, so this is a lifer, so I’m a little hesitant to list it, but I'm curious about what the reviewers think of this situation. I got the report by Benjamin Van Doren of a singing cooperative bird and decided to chase it when arriving, there was incredible amount of noise and people in that area, so I quickly lost faith. However, after a few laps of the area, I heard a very buzzy song from right next to a guy playing the pan flute, and when investigating, I discovered the bird. The bird was 1st-year bird shown by dots on the wings with really rufous primaries and tail, with my initial ID being HETH. After waiting all of 3 hours for the bird to sing, it eventually vanished into the brambles. Based on context, this is almost definitely the same bird Benjamin had about an hour previously in that location, but since I don’t have sound recordings, this might have to be changed to a slash. Photos below if they’re any use at all, lol.
