Observation details
Five primaries extended on each wing as it glided in circles within 100 feet over the trees—give or take—pinkish showing through the tail, thin dark patagial marks, obvious belly band, brown head. Circled and landed in high limbs a few times over about a ten or fifteen minute period; clearly eyeing me on a couple passes; I thought I was seeing a second one circle to the south, but definitely saw another in the nest, seen upright from belly up; this one looked like a very healthy sized juvenile, very richly streaked with dark brown. The first, larger hawk passed by, lower a couple times, then I noticed it was clutching a kill in its talon—looked very dark gray, maybe a rat. I moved further away from the nest tree for the rest of my time there. Got so-so video and audio.
