Observation details
An immature medium-sized hawk with a pale breast decorated with light brown tear drops but unpatterned, brown eyes lacking the brighter yellow eye of a juvenile COHA, flat brown head, wide and deep white supercilium, bright yellow on bridge of bill, diagonal white striped tail, bare legs, and light brown back with blotches of white throughout. This bird allowed me to get very close, about 4 meters. It drove into the wet, talk bluestem grass just 2 meters away on North Stream Trail. A RWBL decided to attack. Then the bird took off with the classic shrill screaming 6 times of kee-yeeear. I did not see it again.
