Observation details
Around 60 other people on site. Bird with House Martins at 56°0'42.959" N 12°33'11.564" E. A large swallow that could be picked out most easily by flight action; would often make prolonged slides. At times, when take was closed and the bird was gliding overhead, it was reminiscent of a kestrel! Upperparts “swallow blue” with two toned white/peach-orange rump. Neck collar obvious in flight, enhanced by cap extended onto ear-coverts. Collared bridge dark across nape. Underparts peach-orange to orange, paler in undertail-coverts and throat. Darker concentration of orange across upper breast. Underwing-coverts appeared white (photos show some off-white/buff-peach colouration); contrasted sharply with dark flight feathers.
