Observation details
seemed to be nearby, higher in tree - wasn't able to see but heard singing for quite a while - more than one? Was unsure about Swainson’s thrush singing during migration but per Birds of the World - “Begins singing in late Feb or early Mar on Central American wintering grounds, and continues through onset of migration.” Swainson’s thrush song spirals upward (per Amer. Bird Conservancy: “the only North American thrush species with an ascending song”). vs: veery (which falls in pitch), hermit thrush (one long, clear note followed by short, quick warbling phrase).
