Observation details
Hybrid type bunting that is back for a third(?) year. This bird resembles an Indigo Bunting structurally but has two prominent brownish wing bars reminiscent of Blue Grosbeak. The lower belly is pale, mottled or scalloped. Singing continuously, moving between the cottonwood grove immediately NE of the parking lot and the Marsh Tr. Unfortunately it stayed a bit too distant for good photos, but we were able to get a recording of the song which sounds a bit like a harsh, raspy Indigo Bunting.
