Observation details
A hybrid yes, but what a beauty! Followed up a report from Valerie Woodring and Mathew Telega and found the bird singing an aberrant song right next to the road. It seemed bold and active whilst I was there but started to move west towards Wills Ferry Road near the end of my stay. Superficially resembled blue-winged warbler with bluish-gray wings and mostly while wing bars but the head pattern was striking with a sold black throat, yellow malar and black 'highwayman's' mask - a real stunner! Thank you to Valerie and Mathew for the alert. Photos and audio attached.
