Observation details
Fantastic experience being near these very trusting birds. Very rewarding to sit patiently and wait for them to come past. We had the privilege of seeing five together; at one point one pair mated; at another, pairs and trios displayed with erect crests; at another, territorial defence as one completely puffed its belly out and with crest up went chasing a second bird, at a run, squawking while the fleeing bird shrieked.
