Observation details
Hard to determine, but sandpiper in middle of the very first pond next to a Semipalmated Plover (same size). Least Sandpipers flew in, which were substantially smaller. Did reveal a good amount of white on the rump, but I didn’t see enough for an ID on that alone. Black legs and bill. Wings were uncommonly long, giving the look of a long sharp body. Neck also uncommonly long for a peep when extended. Diagnostically, slight but visible streaking along the flank going too far to be a Semipalmated Sandpiper.
