Observation details
Continuing birds discovered by Jonathan Rowley. Originally identified as Purple Martins - the consensus is that these are probably NRWS. Observed today in the southwest corner of the park, often loosely associated with (and larger than) other types of swallow in the area. One bird appeared all dark, looking black. The second had a dark back, head, and chest, as well as a lighter, splotchy underside. The birds tended to follow one another in flight - often over the lake, as well as the adjacent water park and cemetery. They perched together in a smaller, half dead looking tree in the vicinity of 33.90402, -118.00791. Thank you Jonathan, and thank you Chef Ito for sharing coordinates!
